“Kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world no matter what you look like.” –Unknown
You don't have to be Kylie Jenner or Nikita Dragun to try a new popping makeup trend. It can be intimidating at first when you see the finished product of a 17 step smokey eye, but all these looks you're seeing can be achieved in a way simpler manner. Try these makeup trends the next time you want to add a little "va-va-voom" to your look.
Colored Liner
Winged liner is an O.G. Maybe you're like me, when you think of doing something different to your look and want to add color, I automatically go for a colored lipstick. Challenge yourself! While trying color can definitely be a little intimidating, this is a simple way to work it into your everyday look. Just switch out that plain old black liner for a colored one and follow your same liner routine. For this upcoming fall, try red or a mustard yellow. If you wanna switch it up and migrate away from a cliche fall color, try an icy blue to match the cold temperatures.
Brown on the Lip
Warm tonesssss. It's no secret that everything, including makeup trends, from the 90s are back in style. I'm sure there's a picture of your mom somewhere in your basement, where she has on a full brown lip, or a dark brown liner layered with a lighter nude on top. This is an amazing way to switch up your look and effortlessly add a vintage vibe. If you aren't a fan of the "ombre lip" then finding a rich, matte "chocolatey" brown lipstick to apply all over your lips is another great way to stay on trend.
Deep Toned Blush
Blush is used to bring some life into your look. It adds a youthful glow, to give that "flushed" look everyone wants to achieve. For the fall, try switching it up a bit. Most of the time, people reach for a "pinkish" toned blush because it mimics the natural flush you get when blood rushes to your cheeks. Swapping that rose-toned blush for a deep burnt orange or a blood red blush will add so much dimension to your look. It can be intimidating, especially if you have a fairer complexion, but start with minimal product on your brush and layer as needed.
Glossy Eye
We all love a lip gloss, why not put it somewhere other than your lips. Yes, I thought it was weird when I first found out about it too. Gloss..on your eyelid?! The glossy lid has made its way from editorial makeup, down the line to an everyday look. Adding a touch of your lip gloss on top of your naked lid, or on top of an eyeshadow adds texture to your look. It's a little different for sure, but everyone is trying it. It helps take that glow you get from your highlighter to every area of your face.
Go ahead and add these fire yet simple twists to your look on those days you wanna do something a little different. I promise, change is scary, but it's always good to shake things up a little bit.
